Early attempts

These are very early pieces done on small plates. As you can see, especially if you click on the images to get close-ups, I am struggling a little to get the paint to do what I want it to do. The bird is obviously totally mythological. The fish is largely mythological, too, but loosely based on the John Dorey (Zeus faber). The little 9.5"-diameter plate is decorated with a Persian-based design. The two 10"-diameter plates are my first attempts at tree-leaf designs. The branches were done with a brush, and I found it difficult to get some of them of thin and delicate as I wanted.
